Extreme International are pleased to announce our involvement in the development of West Bund Financial Hub.
This collaboration will see the creation of a diverse range of sports, leisure, entertainment and adventure activities and experiences within West Bund Financial Hub, for the domestic, regional, and international visitors.
Situated next to the Huangpu River and nestled in China’s most populous city of Shanghai, this prime 1,800,000 sq.m. mixed-use site was acquired by HongKong Land in early 2020. According to the Thirteenth Five-Year Plan, West Bund is an exemplary zone for culture, media and digital technology development in Shanghai and has established itself as an international creative industry cluster including the culture and creative industry, high-tech industry and innovative financial sectors. It is here that the West Bund Media Port, West Bund AI Valley and West Bund Financial Hub will be developed.
Providing a comprehensive sports advisory for this extraordinary development, Extreme International will propose a commercially driven domestic and international strategic approach, utilising our industry knowledge, insights and global expertise to provide strategic planning across design, development and operations.
Extreme International’s offer will support the government and developer’s agenda, to encourage an active, sporty and healthy lifestyle; support and drive tourism within the area; integrate and compliment other assets and brands identified for the development; all, whilst considering sound commercial and financial modelling on specialist sports assets and unlocking the full potential and value of this destination.
Ben Barker, Managing Director of Extreme Destinations, comments, “This is an exciting opportunity for us; not only because we have aligned with one of the most prominent developers in China, but because it will allow EXTREME to once again inspire a whole generation of athletes and community to live and breathe an active and healthy lifestyle through action and adventure sports.”
