Our sustainable approach covers a spectrum of services: Our social media publishing studio has a large and highly engaged online adventure sports and travel community with over 16 million followers and delivers 300 million views per month. It excels in crafting and posting compelling stories that entertain our fans and forge unprecedented connections between brands and consumers. Across tourism Extreme deliver strategy, design, development, and operation of adventurous tourism destinations. Our events team specializes in orchestrating awe-inspiring events that not only captivate but also champion sustainability and adventure.

About the role

 

Extreme is working on the development and launch an adventure travel agency offer leveraging The Extreme brand, our social media community and reach. We have some positive initial interest from a number of investors and travel groups in the project.

 

For this start up opportunity, we are now seeking a highly entrepreneurial, deeply experienced and knowledgeable person who has significant hands-on adventure travel agency experience to lead and support with the development and management of Extreme’s travel agency business. This role covers all areas and as leader in the sector we are looking for someone who is passionate about adventure travel and can provide expert leadership and guidance on creating and implementing exciting and unique travel offer for clients. The successful candidate will be instrumental in establishing and growing Extreme’s new travel agency venture.

Work Style: Hybrid / Office based (remote with occasional travel)

Contract Type: Full time consultant

Compensation: Fee plus bonus structure, plus equity

Key Responsibilities will include:

Strategic Planning and Execution

 

  • Development and implementation of business strategies, plans, and procedures to ensure alignment with company goals.

  • Identifying and exploring new business opportunities, including partnerships, new markets, and innovative travel offerings.

  • Build and lead a high-performing sales and operations team, responsible for delivering exceptional customer service.

  • Monitor industry trends and competitor activity to identify opportunities for growth and improvement within the business.

Operational Management

  • Oversee daily operations of the company, including sales, marketing, customer service, and trip logistics.

  • Ensure efficient and effective allocation of resources to meet business objectives.

  • Implement and monitor performance metrics to ensure operational excellence.

Financial Management

  • Develop and manage the annual budget, ensuring financial targets are met.

  • Analyse financial reports to identify areas for improvement and growth.

  • Implement cost-control measures and financial best practices to enhance profitability.

Leadership and Team Development

  • Lead, inspire, and manage a diverse team of professionals across various departments.

  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment that encourages innovation and professional growth.

  • Collaborating with the team to develop creative and innovative travel packages that cater to the needs and interests of clients.

  • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide ongoing coaching and development opportunities for staff.

Customer Experience

 

  • Ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction by maintaining quality control over travel products and services.

  • Handle customer complaints and feedback with professionalism and a focus on continuous improvement.

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders.

 

Marketing and Sales

 

  • Oversee the development and execution of marketing strategies to drive brand awareness and sales.

  • Work closely with the team to create compelling travel packages and marketing campaigns to attract new clients.

  • Ensure effective use of digital marketing, social media, and other marketing channels to reach target audiences.

  • Monitor sales performance and implement strategies to achieve sales targets.

 

Risk Management

 

  • Identify and mitigate potential risks related to travel safety, regulatory compliance, and financial stability.

  • Ensure all company activities comply with legal requirements and ethical standards.

  • Develop and implement crisis management plans as necessary.

 

Innovation and Sustainability

  • Promote sustainable travel practices and ensure the company adheres to environmental and social responsibility standards.

  • Drive innovation in travel offerings, leveraging new technologies and trends to enhance customer experiences.

You are a Perfect fit If You Have:

 

  • Have started and exited an adventure travel agency business in the past

  • Worked in and grown an adventure travel agency business.

  • Minimum 7+ years of experience in adventure travel industry.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, Tourism, or a related field. MBA or other advanced degree preferred

  • Proven experience as a Managing Director or in a similar executive role within the travel or hospitality industry.

  • In-depth knowledge of various adventure travel destinations, activities, and logistics.

  • Financial acumen and experience managing budgets and financial performance.

  • Strong understanding of travel industry trends, and pricing strategies.

  • Proficient in using travel industry software and tools to research, plan, and book travel arrangements.

  • Exceptional communication and people skills, with the ability to build rapport with people of diverse backgrounds.

  • Excellent customer service orientation, ensuring client satisfaction throughout the travel planning journey.

  • A deep understanding of the market dynamics.

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.

  • A passion for adventure travel and a genuine enthusiasm for creating unforgettable travel experiences.
