About EXTREME Hangout

 

Inspired by our love of adventure sports and our passion to protect the planet, EXTREME established The Extreme Hangout in 2021 as a sustainability impact platform to give young people a voice, popularise the climate movement and inspire environmental action. Young and underrepresented people want their voices heard and have little opportunity to participate in formal proceedings. EXTREME made it its mission to give them a seat at the table and deliver a platform where they could share their concerns and opinions.

The EXTREME Hangout will run again at COP28 in Dubai from the 3rd to the 12th of December 2023. Again, it will be open to all and free to join us for the dynamic and inspirational youth-led change maker talks and panels, networking, and for those who will be attending COP28 to use The Extreme Hangout as their base to re-charge, recoup, and hangout. The event will be live streamed to a global audience, creating an opportunity for attendees to engage in meaningful discussions.

Job Description:

 

We are seeking a skilled and experienced temporary Conference/Livestream Producer to join our Media team for the EXTREME Hangout at COP28 in Dubai. As Producer, you will be responsible for managing the livestreams, technical operations, and video mixing, ensuring a seamless and captivating virtual experience for our audience on social media. In this role you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of livestreams and quality video production, enhancing the experience for virtual attendees worldwide. The successful candidate will closely collaborate with our audio-visual team, event coordinators, and technical crew.

 

We are looking for someone based in Dubai or the UK

 

Event Location: Dubai, United Arab Emirates

Job Type: Full-time, Temporary (10 days)

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the live streaming and video mixing for the event, ensuring that all sessions are streamed smoothly and professionally.

 

1. Live Stream Management:

 

• Oversee the entire live streaming process, including setup, testing, broadcasting, and troubleshooting.

• Manage live streaming platforms and ensure high-quality video and audio transmissions throughout the event.

• Collaborate with the production team to ensure all technical requirements and objectives are met.

 

2. Video Mixing

 

• Operate video mixing equipment, transitioning between camera feeds, slideshows, graphics, and pre-recorded content during the conference.

• Coordinate with the AV team to ensure synchronized and engaging visual storytelling.

• Edit, trim, and enhance video content to be included in the live stream.

 

3. Technical Operations:

 

• Set up and operate audio-visual equipment, including cameras, microphones, lighting, and video switchers.

• Collaborate with the event organizers to understand technical requirements and implement appropriate equipment and technology solutions.

• Troubleshoot technical issues promptly to ensure uninterrupted live streaming.

 

4. Team Collaboration:

 

• Work closely with the event organizing team, to ensure smooth event execution.

• Communicate effectively with the team, ensuring technical needs are understood and met.

• Manage and coordinate a team of camera operators, technicians, and livestream assistants.

 

5. Post-Event Activities:

 

• Organize and manage video archive and recorded content for post-event use.

 

Required Experience, Knowledge, and Skills:

 

• Proven experience (Min: 4 years) as a Conference Producer or in a similar role, with expertise in managing live streams and video mixing for conferences or events.

• Proficiency in operating video mixing equipment, video switchers, and other AV gear.

• Extensive knowledge of live streaming platforms, such as YouTube Live, Facebook, Instagram, Zoom, etc.

• Proficient with recording and editing equipment and software for live streaming.

• Strong technical skills and ability to troubleshoot technical issues quickly and effectively.

• Proficiency in video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro) to edit and enhance video content.

• Excellent organizational and time management skills to ensure on-time and seamless event execution.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with presenters, team members, and clients.

• Flexibility to travel and work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic event environment.

• A passion for events, technology, and staying updated on the latest industry trends.

• A passion for sustainability/climate change is a plus.
